Calcifediol

Calcifediol is converted from vitamin D3 in the human body under the action of the liver's VD3 hydroxylase. It is sensitive to air, heat and light, easily soluble in polar organic solvents such as ethanol and insoluble in water. It is used to treat various chronic bone disorders such as osteoporosis in the elderly and metabolic bone diseases related to chronic kidney failure.
