Colorless transparent monoclinic crystal, no odor, salty, specific gravity: 1.729, heated to 100 ℃, lose 5 crystal water, soluble in water, insoluble in alcohol, decompose in acid solution, with strong reducibility, easy weathering in dry air above 33 ℃, deliquescence in humid air.

Application:

used as a photographic fixer. It is used as dechlorination agent after pulp bleaching in paper industry. It is used as dechlorination agent for cotton fabric after bleaching in printing and dyeing industry. Analytical chemistry is used as reagent for chromatography and volumetric analysis. It is used as detergent and disinfectant in medicine. Food industry is used as chelating agent, antioxidant, etc.
