Appearance:

White or yellowish crystals.

The melting point is 123 ℃ and the boiling point is 164 ℃ (1.47kpa).

It is soluble in water, ethanol and ether, but insoluble in benzene and gasoline.

Exposed to air and sunlight, the color gradually turns black.

Application:

Dye intermediates, used in the manufacture of azo dyes, can also be used in fur dyes, such as fur Brown eg, fur yellow eg and so on.

Pharmaceutical intermediate for the production of antituberculosis drug p-aminosalicylic acid.

It is also used in the production of antioxidant, stabilizer, developer, color film and hair dyeing.
